Inge Van Laer: Inge is a clinical psychologist in the Netherlands specializing in children and adolescents. She has extensive experience in assessment, including Therapeutic Assessment (TA), and in individual, family, group, inpatient, and outpatient treatment for youth with personality pathology. Over the past 18 years, she has developed expertise in all four TA models and is certified in the adolescent and adult models. She practices TA at a treatment center for clients with severe personality pathology and provides supervision, training, workshops, and symposiums nationally and internationally. She is also co-director of the diagnostics department at de Viersprong.


Hilde De Saeger: Hilde is a licensed psychologist and psychotherapist in the Netherlands and Belgium and co-director of the diagnostics department at de Viersprong. She specializes in personality assessment and Therapeutic Assessment (TA) and completed her doctoral dissertation on TA with clients with personality disorders in 2019. She teaches graduate and postgraduate courses, is an Honorary Fellow at the University of Amsterdam, and serves on the board of the Therapeutic Assessment Institute. She regularly presents internationally and is certified in adult Therapeutic Assessment.
 

 

Overview:

The Assessment Intervention Session (AIS) is a crucial component of Therapeutic Assessment (TA). At the same time, it is often one of the most challenging sessions to prepare for and conduct: how do you translate a case conceptualization into a successful AIS that provides the client with greater insight and motivates them to initiate change? This webinar focuses on the Alternative Model for Personality Disorders (AMPD)—and more specifically, Criterion A, “level of personality functioning”—as a framework for developing and structuring an AIS.
